Hazbin Hotel's Showrunner Is Aware of Fans' Second Season Predictions — And She Has Positive Updates

The much-anticipated second season of the musical adult cartoon Hazbin Hotel launches on Prime Video soon, and audience theories has been widespread.

Season 1 presents a diverse group of characters residing in the afterlife, sets them at odds accompanied by musical numbers detailing their conflicts, and builds tense rivalries and angsty, affectionate connections that fuel audience devotion.

The community's expectations for season 2 differ greatly, but certain themes recur frequently: Could Angel Dust escape his tormentor? Will we find out more about the mysterious "deal" constraining the enigmatic Alastor? Might certain characters' relationships evolve?

"Obviously, I don't make the show with fan service specifically in mind," the showrunner stated recently. "But I feel like me being a devotee of the series means there's a lot of it just inherently. I also want to see these things, and I want some of these things to happen, and obviously some of these things are meant to happen in the show!"

The creator says her big-picture plan is for a five-season run of Hazbin Hotel. Future installments have already been green-lit by Prime Video and A24, which finance the series.

That might mean viewers have to be patient for some of the major resolutions — but they may be surprised at how fast the new season progresses, and how much of what they're anticipating unfolds this season.

"I feel like people are going to be highly satisfied," the creator notes. "We get some firsts. I think we get some incredible reveals, some really cool backstories, and even just simple things, [like] I hope this character gets a song. […] We're going to hear much more singing from the characters we didn't get to hear before."

The creator is well-informed of the theories and desires about season 2 — particularly in the format of audience prediction charts.

"I've come across a couple people create a prediction grid about the new season," she says. "Naturally I won't share it, but I've actually done some of them, and almost all of them have almost a bingo. I thought, Oh, if you put this [event] in this spot, it would be a bingo. So that makes me think we do a lot [of what fans are waiting for in this season], because I was like, Oh, there's multiple potential bingos on this card. So that makes me happy."

Hazbin Hotel the second season launches on Prime Video on October 29.
